1. It’s 1:15 PM and I just woke up and the first thing I saw was this Healthy Is The New Skinny campaign by Natural Model Management.

Maybe, our look of being healthy all started when we were little girls and all have our Barbie’s. We adored her like she’s real and so we wanted to have everything she has…even the idea of having Ken who’s attracted to a woman like Barbie. Guys are not really attracted to skinny girls because they find it not pretty at all.

In 2009 up to early 2011, I’m so worried about my body. Every time I stand in front of the mirror, there’s a voice telling me that, “I’m so fat! Why am I so fat? I won’t eat then.” Yes, it really happens. For those teenagers like me who experienced this thing, you know that it’s true. No matter how you see you backbones, you still don’t want to eat because you think your body is still not enough to be skinny.

Real beauty is what’s natural. It’s what matters the most. No surgeries, no injections is equal to not having ‘imperfection’ that the media is telling you.

Actually, it’s not only about the body. I’ve been repeating this for a lot of times already - that the color of the skin is the second or merely first thing that people are concerned of nowadays. They don’t accept what color they have. Fair skinned wants to have a white skin but they didn’t even think that black is sexy to white countries. This campaign by me started since whitening soaps, lotions and creams became widely known and being patronized by all. It’s as if all the faces in front of beauty magazine covers and advertisements are all queen of white faces. That’s why readers also patronize the fake face of the media. In few years time, I’ll be working with all sorts of media and believe me, if I will have the chance to promote this campaign of mine, I will do it.

Same with the hair. Everyone wants a straight and beach wavy hair. They use all the chemicals just to have it. Now, I cut my hair off and didn’t even bother to undergo hair rebonding or blowout because I’m trying to have everything natural as possible. Though what I’m bothered right now is what other people might think of me (which is another bad thing), I use hair straightening iron at school. It’s not bad to desire to look good but you can do it by being just simply you. Of course, no one’s perfect so don’t try too hard.

I wish in the next generation of girls, they’re more likely to accept what they have. Owning oneself is really important. By means of it, you’re showing how much you love yourself. It’s okay, there’s no need to go with the flow if you think it’s not the right thing to do.
